Recently, GN has completed the manufacturing and factory testing of 2 units screw presses, which will be sent to the sludge dewatering project of customers in South America later. Screw press is a commonly used sludge dewatering equipment. It is favored by many industry users because of its compact structure, low energy consumption, low noise and high degree of automation.

The screw press designed and produced by GN is mainly divided into two parts in structure, namely flocculation conditioning tank and dewatering assembly. The flocculation conditioning tank can be used as a buffer tank to receive raw sludge and flocculant, and is equipped with a mixing device. After sufficient flocculation, the sludge will form flocs, and then overflow into the dewatering assembly with the liquid. The dewatering assembly is mainly composed of a dewatering screw and a liquid collecting tank. The dewatering screw and the outer discs form the chamber for sludge dewatering. During the process of sludge traveling along the screw channel, with the decrease of screw pitch and the increase of screw shaft diameter, the water in the sludge will be gradually squeezed out, and then flow out through the gap between the moving disc and the fixing disc, so as to enter the liquid collecting tank and complete the dewatering process.

GN screw press can realize one-key automatic control. In the electric control cabinet, the motor of the dewatering screw is equipped with frequency converter, which can adjust the speed of the screw according to the working conditions. When the sludge is slightly jammed, the problem can be solved by turning the screw. The control elements of the sludge feed pump are also reserved in the control cabinet, and the corresponding frequency converter can also be equipped to adjust the feed flow rate.

Flocculation is an essential process in the working process of screw press, therefore usually users will equipped a set of polymer dosing unit to prepare flocculation agent when using screw press. GN polymer dosing unit can set automatic dosing program through PLC to add polymer chemicals and water in proportion, so as to save manpower and improve work efficiency.
