GN released updated TBM Slurry Separation Plant

Being a separation solution provider, GN is dedicated to providing various solids liquid separation equipment and system for industrial application. Recently, GN released the updated TBM slurry separation plant with standard configuration and design.
During the mud balance tunneling projects, the mud will be injected down to underground using for cooling the cutter and take out the soil. Therefore the performance of slurry separation plant decides whether sufficient mud can be supplied and the property of the mud.

Normally, the TBM slurry separation plant is of large flow rate, GN released the updated system with below capacities and specified model for easy selection.

  • For small size, GNTBM-240M with capacity 240m3/h, GNTBM-360M with capacity 360m3/h, GNTBM-500M with capacity 500m3/h and GNTBM-1000M with capacity 1000m3/h.
  • For Big Size: GNTBM-900M (900m³/h), GNTBM-1200M (1200m³/h), GNTBM-1400M (1400m³/h), GNTBM-2000M (2000m³/h), GNTBM-2800M (2800m³/h), GNTBM-3600M(3600m³/h)

The TBM slurry separation plant is mainly containing below equipment:
1. Vibrating screen is used to remove the coarse solids in the mud. It is the first stage for solids liquid separation. Large content of solids would be removed in this stage. GN also issue the vibrating screen used in mining industry.
2. Cyclone unit is to remove the fine solids in the mud. According to the flow rate, the quantity of the cyclones varies
Considering most of the TBM projects are processed inside city, GN design the slurry separation plant with compact structure, all equipment are mounted on one skid for easy transportation.

To remove the fine solids in the mud, some contractors prefer to adopt the high speed decanter centrifuge. However, with only mechanical equipment, the ultrafine solids less than 5 microns are difficult to separate; therefore, the chemical dosing unit is always used together with high-speed decanter centrifuge for thorough separation of solids.
