This week, GN completed one set big bowl decanter centrifuge for overseas mining tailing dewatering project. The decanter centrifuge will be installed in container for easy transportation and convenient installation on site. The system includes 2 containers installed up and down; decanter centrifuge will be installed in the upper container.

The mining tailing is a mixture of fine ore and water, and if it is not treated in time, lot of space will be occupied on site, which leads to waste of site resources and environmental pollution. Decanter centrifuge is kind of solid-liquid separation equipment that can be applied for treatment of tailing slurry, the fine ore particles and circulating water can be effectively recovered.

GN Decanter Centrifuge can fully separate the tailing slurry to solve the problem of washing water recycling. In this project, customer ordered GN largest dewatering centrifuge model GNLW764 with bowl diameter of 30inch for large flow requirement on site. In consideration of the inner parts protection of the decanter centrifuge, tungsten material plate and bushing are installed on screw propeller blade, sludge distribution port, and slag discharge port of the bowl, which will extend the service life of the equipment.

This mining tailing dewatering system is divided into upper and lower container modules. The upper container is to install the dewatering centrifuge and VFD control cabinet. The operator can monitor and control the whole system through the HMI screen on the cabinet. The lower container is used to install the screw feeding pump and slag collecting conveyor. To put the dewatering centrifuge on upper layer, the clarified liquid will falls into the discharge pipe by gravity and then flows out of the system. At the slag discharge port of the decanter centrifuge, GN equipped a gate valve to separate mud and water for online cleaning purpose. The flushing water can be exported to avoid secondary mixing of the drained flushing water and mud cake.
