GN 3-Phase decanter centrifuge for overseas Electrolytic Purification of Copper Application
Not long ago, GN Separation sent one set three-phase decanter centrifuge to overseas customer site for the application of electrolytic purification of copper. The operation of electrolytic extraction of pure copper will be carried out in solution, which will contain water, solvent, acid, and solid phase. The purpose of using a three-phase decanter centrifuge is to separate different densities of liquids, and solids.
GN three-phase decanter centrifuge adopts the working principle of centripetal pump. Under the action of centrifugal force, the material entering the centrifuge will be divided into a liquid ring layer and a solid ring layer inside the equipment, and the equipping of a centripetal pump mainly considers the separation of liquid phases with different densities. Operators can adjust the interface between the light liquid phase and the heavy liquid phase inside the centrifuge bowl through the adjustment handle located at the feeding end. The change of the critical interface can affect the clarity of the discharged liquid phase. Therefore, in practical work, it is usually necessary to try multiple times according to the user's needs to find the most suitable critical interface position for the centripetal pump, and then record the corresponding scale on the machine. Under the premise of stable feed flow rate and constant material composition, the operator can operate according to the adjusted scale position of the centripetal pump handle.
GN three-phase decanter centrifuge is equipped with a VFD control cabinet, which can adjust the working speed of the equipment and the flow rate of the feed pump, in order to achieve the best operating state and processing effect. The VFD control cabinet is equipped with well-known brands of frequency converters and PLC, and operators can observe the operating status of the equipment and adjust working parameters in a timely manner through the touch screen.
In order to ensure a longer service life of the equipment, GN Separation has provided corresponding protection for the internal parts of the three-phase decanter centrifuge that come into contact with the material, such as installing wear-resistant bushings on the slag discharge port of the bowl, and welding tungsten carbide plates or overlaying wear-resistant layers on the screw propeller. These designs have to some extent extended the lifespan of the equipment and reduced customer maintenance cost.
